Kevin has always had dogs - German Shepherds, a Cairn Terrier, and now his toy poodle, Mr. Hobbs. He was blown away at how much he had to learn since his childhood dogs and so em*barked* on learning as much as he could.
Kevin did all of the right things, took Mr Hobbs to puppy school, learned the basics. But the focus was all on obedience - sit, heel, place. But something critical was missing - learning about the socialisation window or how important it is to create positive experiences during that critical time in a puppy's life.
Kevin trained under one of Australia’s most respected dog trainers, Vicki Austin, and became a qualified puppy instructor. It changed everything - not just for Hobbs, but for him. He realised the key was structure, confidence, exposure, and above all - play.
Now Mr Hobbs is thriving - calm, confident, and full of personality.
