Dog Days Puppy School
Many puppy schools focus on obedience, teaching the basics of what we as humans want from our dogs. At Dog Days, we focus on raising confident, happy dogs who want to make good choices and trust their bond with their humans. This helps dogs not just learn, but thrive.
What we do differently
Unlike traditional puppy classes focused solely on obedience, Dog Days Puppy School is built on three pillars:
Building Confidence
Many dogs learn behaviours that don't serve them early on - in the first few months of life. We work on building confidence in both you and your puppy, so your puppy learns how to live in the world without fear. By creating safety and trust early on, we reduce anxiety issues, reactivity and instill a sense of calm assuredness.
We’ll teach you how to raise a pup who can handle new people, new places, and being alone.
Socialisation - What it Means
We’ve learned so much in the last decade about dog psychology. Socialisation means creating positive, affirming experiences for puppies—not just meeting other dogs.
The key training window is six to sixteen weeks. We’ll guide you in safely introducing your puppy to new people, sounds, smells, surfaces, objects and environments at a pace that builds confidence without fear.
We encourage gentle approaches, never forcing interaction. You’ll learn to read dog body language to reduce overwhelm and create good experiences with good outcomes.
Play With Purpose
Puppies learn through play—it’s a genuine need and one of the most rewarding ways to spend time with your dog. Play helps them learn, feel good, burn energy and, most importantly, build a lasting bond of trust with you.
We’ll help you create an environment that’s fun, engaging and safe. Play can be part of everyday life, benefiting you, your family and your pup.
If you’re unsure how to play in a way that feels comfortable, we can help.
