I’ll start with a confession. I am not into podcasts.
I love the idea of them, but once in my ears, or on my noise making device, my brain either
drowns them out with my own internal babble
wants to fast forward to the ‘good bits’
gets frustrated at being talked at
or finds the format boring, exhausting, overstimulating or banal
Brutal huh.
Anyway, back to the sharing bit. Just for you, gentle reader, I have various podcasts about our favourite topic, and people, dogs.
Below is a (not comprehensive, because I have ADHD and that was just too hard to concentrate that long) list of some great minds with nice voices, who have things to share about dog know how. Also I tried to mix up the accents and places from which these pods were cast.
DogPods
Therapy Dogs Australia Podcast - gentle approaches, focus on support animals
The Good Dog Project - upbeat and light hearted
The Origin K9 Podcast - also streams with video - Focus on dogs that work. Talk of overseas deployment and animals of service in conflict situations
Think Like a Dog - Loads of topics
A sub genre of these podcasts are the playlists for dogs (I like to leave music on at home while I’m out, I’ve noticed it really changes how much he barks) and also stories for dogs.
If, you’re like me and you prefer the sound/s of your own voice (internally!) then books will likely be your friend. They certainly are mine.
Books on Dogs
Also, last night I watched a super cute rom-com called Puppy Love. Fiction, super relatable about two people who were adopted by dogs who make their lives all the better.
